For individuals with thin or borderline corneas who may not qualify for LASIK, PRK XTRA is a promising solution. This procedure combines the surface-based laser reshaping of PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) with corneal cross-linking (CXL), which strengthens the cornea by applying riboflavin (vitamin B2) and exposing it to ultraviolet light. 

PRK XTRA is especially beneficial for patients with early signs of keratoconus or those at risk of corneal weakening after surgery.

How Soon Can I Drive After Vision Correction?

Driving after laser eye surgery depends on the type of procedure performed and how quickly your vision stabilizes. Most LASIK and SMILE patients can resume driving within 24 to 48 hours. PRESBYOND® patients may need a few days to adjust to blended vision. 

PRK XTRA typically has a longer recovery period, with patients advised to wait up to a week before driving due to temporary light sensitivity and slower visual clarity.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Eye Surgery?
