A cataract is caused by the natural increase in density, thickness and refractive index of your own crystalline lens inside your eye. These changes inside the lens cause gradual decreased and cloudy vision. Many factors and systemic diseases play a role in the formation of cataracts at an earlier age, but irrespective of the cause of cataract, it is treated exactly the same way.
With cataract surgery, the content of the natural lens is emulsified and liquified by ultrasonic waves, and then aspirated from the eye. The lens is then replaced by an artificial lens. No anesthetic injections or needles are needed, and the whole procedure takes only 10-15 minutes to complete.
Visionmax Eye Centre offers Advanced Cataract surgery with the option of different premium, lifestyle-choice Intraocular lenses, including Astigmatism-correcting/Toric lenses and Trifocal Lenses. Recovery is very fast, and most patients have functional vision already the day after surgery.
