How Does Visian® ICL™ Work?

Your natural lens rests at the front of the eye and changes the angle of light as it passes through. A Visian® ICL™ lens works the same way. An eye surgeon places the artificial lens over your natural one, precisely altering the angle of the light, so you achieve clearer focus. The effect is similar to a permanent corrective contact lens inside your eye. The incision to insert the lens is less than 3mm long, and most people only need numbing eye drops to feel comfortable. Each eye takes about 10 to 15 minutes. 

What is Recovery Like After Visian® ICL™?

You may notice light sensitivity and mild discomfort for a few days after the procedure. Most people can drive and return to work within 48 hours. You will need to avoid rubbing your eyes or getting water in them while they recover. The tiny incision is self-healing and does not require sutures.

What Results Will I See With Visian® ICL™?

Once in place, the Visian® ICL™ lens is invisible, and you will not feel it. You may notice clearer vision immediately after your procedure, which will continue to improve during the healing process.
