Why are My Eyes So Dry?
Do you have dry, uncomfortable eyes? Meibomian Gland Dysfunction causes dry eyes in a majority of cases. We offer an effective treatment option called LipiFlow® to restore natural tears, making your eyes feel lubricated and comfortable.
Why are My Eyes So Dry?
Dry eyes can have many causes, including contact lens problems, allergies, and medical conditions. 86% of chronic dry eye patients have Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). The Meibomian glands occur along the edges of the eyelids. They secrete a lipid that becomes part of your tears. This lipid layer keeps tears from evaporating and keeps the eyes lubricated. If these glands become blocked, dry eye can result. People who use contact lenses or spend extended periods looking at screens may have a higher risk.

How are Dry Eyes Treated?
If a thorough examination determines that MGD causes your dry eye, your doctor may recommend LipiFlow® for treatment. Other types of dry eye require different treatment methods based on the underlying condition. LipiFlow® will help the majority of dry eye sufferers experience long-lasting relief. For those not helped by LipiFlow®, we will help you explore alternative treatment methods.
How Does LipiFlow® Work?
If you have MGD, your eyes feel dry because your tears lack the layer that keeps them from evaporating. LipiFlow® targets the Meibomian glands that make this layer. It uses gentle warmth and stimulation to unblock clogged glands and restore normal oil production. Unblocking these glands allows them to secrete lipids again, restoring your natural tears. The treatment causes no discomfort and only takes ten to fifteen minutes.
What Results Will I See With LipiFlow®?
LipiFlow® treatment unblocks the glands, but it may take time for them to resume production. Some people see results within two to four weeks. While your results can last a long time, your glands can become clogged again in the future. Another LipiFlow® treatment can resolve this problem.

Am I a Good Candidate for LipiFlow®?
