LipiFlow® Results: What to Expect
Each person responds differently to LipiFlow® treatments. If your Meibomian glands have been blocked for a while, they may take some time to begin production again. Most people see LipiFlow® results within four to six weeks, although it may take longer.
How long your LipiFlow® results last depends on how often your glands become blocked. Some people may need another treatment after a few months. Others may have results that last much longer. Fortunately, a single LipiFlow® usually restores normal tear function whenever you start to notice symptoms. LipiFlow® results depend on several factors, including your age, how long you have had chronic dry eye, your lifestyle, and any health conditions you may have.
There is no recovery time after LipiFlow® treatments. You can return to work and your other daily activities immediately. LipiFlow® protects your eyes from injury, so you will see clearly and feel no discomfort after treatment.
Am I a Good Candidate for LipiFlow®?
You may be a good candidate for LipiFlow® if you have dry eye caused by blocked glands. Since this is the most common cause of chronic dry eye, many people will achieve symptom relief. You should not have LipiFlow® if you have an eye infection or injury.
